Featured Project Coomera Sports and Leisure Centre 2018 Commonwealth Games Legacy Build

Job Brief:

The Coomera Sports & Leisure Centre was designed to accommodate the Commonwealth Games, whilst offering ongoing legacy to the people of Queensland. Shoreline Sports Floors had the pleasure of conversing with BDA Architecture during design stage to insure the specified Sprung Timber Floor System could offer the system load capacities required during the Commonwealth Games period, without sacrificing the required force return and system life span expected from a specialised sprung timber sports floor system. After heavy investigation & consideration our ASF PR3 system, furnished with Horner Long Life North American Maple T & G flooring was specified. The Long Life flooring profile increases the life expectancy of the sports floor system, allowing maximum asset legacy. Shoreline appreciated the opportunity to work with Hansen Yuncken to complete the successful installation of the eight court stadium, which equates to approximately 6,400m2 of Sprung Timber Floor System. This imposing Stadium is now housing one of the largest Sprung Timber Floor Systems in our region which will facilitate many high end sporting events in the decades to come. The Coomera Sports & Leisure Centre will host Netball and Gymnastics during the Commonwealth Games.
